2019 Toyota Supra teased ahead of Goodwood showing

Production model headed to iconic car festival

The production Toyota Supra will make a debut of sorts at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Toyota Europe overnight confirmed the vehicle's attendance through its Twitter feed. Unsurprisingly, Toyota Europe's tweet was light on details, although we do know the vehicle will use the 'A90' model code, following on from the fourth-generation 'A80', which ended production in 2002.

The image attached to the tweet shows a car featuring an even more distracting camouflage setup than those used on development prototypes, the last of which was spied around two months ago.

It's not known whether the Supra attending Goodwood will be seen with or without camouflage, or whether it will make a run up the hill-climb course. This year's Goodwood Festival of Speed kicks off on July 12, UK time, so we won't have to wait too long to find out.

As we already know, the new Supra will be the twin-under-the-skin to the next-generation BMW Z4. Although both cars will share inline six-cylinder engines, and numerous parts both seen and unseen, the two vehicles will have unique exterior designs, with the Supra sold as a coupe and the Z4 solely a soft-top convertible.

BMW and Toyota also insist the two vehicles have been tuned to handle differently from each other. The new two vehicles will be built alongside one another at Magna Steyr's factory in Graz, Austria.
