Hyundai i30 CRDi beats four Mitsubishi EVO’s in Targa Tasmania

As the least powerful and most fuel efficient car in this year’s Targa Tasmania, finishing 11th in class against Mitsubishi Evolutions and V8 powered Holden Commodores, is as good as a podium finish for the drivers and crew of Hyundai’s successful Targa team this year .

After almost 2000 kilometres, the diesel powered i30 finished ahead of nineteen other cars in the Showroom Class and finished ahead of four EVO’s, 2 Holden Commodore V8’s, and one Mazda MX5.

It’s a superb result when you consider the car’s power disadvantage when climbing up steep terrain, where every other car would have be faster than the i30 CRDi.

We congratulate Hyundai and their Targa team, especially driver, Razvan Vlad and co-driver Ioana Vlad, for their consistency throughout what is one of the most demanding tarmac rallies in the world.
