2018 Hyundai Santa Fe pricing and specs

New seven-seater coming from $43,000 before on-roads.

Hyundai Australia has released pricing and specifications for the all-new seven-seat 2019 Santa Fe, which arrives in showrooms this week.

As is standard for Hyundai, the car will be offered in Active, Elite and Highlander guises. The base model Active (below) will be offered with a 2.4-litre petrol engine ($43,000 before on-roads) making 138kW of power and 241Nm of torque, hooked up to a six-speed automatic feeding all four wheels.

It's also available with a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel making a more respectable 147kW and 440Nm, priced from $46,000 before on-roads.

Standard equipment is generous: you'll get six airbags, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop/go, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist and blind-spot monitoring.

Rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, auto dusk-sensing headlamps and LED daytime-running lights are also standard fit. Outside, the car rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is included, along with cloth trim for all seven seats. There's no factory navigation, and there's only one zone for the climate control. You'll pay $695 for metallic paint across the range.

Jumping to the Elite bumps the price to $54,000 before on-road costs, and removes the petrol option from the equation. You'll be able to distinguish it from the entry-level car by its 18-inch alloy wheels, satin chrome bumper and door finishers and carbon-effect grille.

The cloth seats has been turfed in favour of heated, powered pews up front, and all seven seats are trimmed in leather. The infotainment system has grown to 8.0-inches and, along with the smartphone mirroring options, there's factory navigation with live traffic updates and lifetime maps.

Keyless entry and start, dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing wipers, rear window shades, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, a power tailgate and folding wing mirrors are also standard atop the base car's kit.

Topping the range is the Highlander, priced from $60,500 before on-road costsMaking the $6500 jump brings such niceties as a surround-view monitor, hands-off parking assist, a panoramic glass sunroof, heated steering wheel, heated/ventilated front seats and a memory function for the driver's pew.

Wireless phone charging, heated outboard rear seats, a head-up display, LED interior lighting and, on the outside, 19-inch alloy wheels to set the car car apart from its cheaper brethren. Beige or burgundy interior trim is a $295 option on both Elite and Highlander models.

Servicing costs will vary based on which engine you spec. You'll pay $315 for your first three and fifth services, and $420 for the fourth with the petrol, jumping to $399 and $499 respectively with the diesel.
