2019 Audi A4 revealed

German brand reveals styling changes for bread-and-butter sedan and wagon

Audi has freshened-up its popular A4 sedan and wagon with updated styling that serves to enhance its sporting character.

The German brand, which is in a state of flux at the moment following the arrest of CEO Rupert Stadler last week in Germany, has revealed details of the facelifted A4 range, including a new S-Line competition package that gives regular models the look of the go-fast RS variants.

While there are no mechanical updates across the range, base-level models get a new front bumper with more pronounced air inlets with aluminium highlights while the rear bumper now features slimmer exhaust outlets and a narrower diffuser panel. There are also new-look alloy wheels across the line-up.

The S-Line competition package features a sportier front bumper that features wider inlets with unique U-shaped sections that guide airflow into the wheel housings for improved aerodynamics and bolder, silver-coloured highlights in the grille and lower stone-chip guard.

Avant versions (Audi-speak for station wagon) also receive an RS spoiler on the tailgate, while both body styles feature the Audi four ring logo in either black or silver on the rear doors, red brake callipers, sports suspension, LED headlamps and Audi Sport 19-inch wheels.

Inside the cabin, the S-Line treatment extends to RS carbon fibre inlays in the dash, a chunky three-spoke steering wheel and sports seats that can be trimmed in either black, red or tan leather.
