2018 Audi Q5 recalled – UPDATE

A pair of SUVs called back over rear brake issue

Audi Australia has recalled two 2018 Q5s, over concerns their rear brake pistons are incorrectly coated.

UPDATE, 08/08/2018: Audi has added another car to the recall. An updated VIN list is attached here

According to the company, the issue could cause a long brake pedal travel and reduced overall braking effectiveness. Less effective brakes, obviously, pose a hazard to the driver and other road users.

Just two cars – that's right, two – are caught up in the recall. A (very short) VIN list is attached here.

Audi will contact owners of the affected vehicles and tell them to contact their nearest dealer for a free fix. Concerned drivers can call 1800 502 834 for more information.
