Suzuki Swift GL Navigator manual announced

Suzuki has added a manual version of the GL Navigator to its Swift range, replacing the GL manual at the bottom of the range with more equipment and a five-star ANCAP rating.

The new Swift is powered by a 66kW/120Nm 1.2-litre DualJet engine, and rides on 16-inch alloy wheels as standard. It gets daytime running lights, tinted windows, satellite navigation and a reversing camera as standard, along with three pedals and a five-speed gearbox.

When it arrives early in the fourth quarter of 2018, the GL Navigator manual will replace the GL manual as the base-model Swift – Suzuki has confirmed the existing price-leader is on runout.

Because Navigator-spec cars are available with a $1000 safety pack adding autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control, the entire Swift range will have a five-star ANCAP safety rating when the the GL Navigator manual takes over from the current GL manual as the entry-level model.

Pricing will start at $16,990 before on-road costs, with drive-away prices to be announced at a later date. At the moment, the GL manual is priced from $16,990 drive-away – but the GL Automatic Navigator is only $1000 more, so we'd suggest the new Navigator manual could match its predecessor's drive-away price.
