2019 BMW X4: What’s new?

A quick snapshot at what's new in the next-gen coupe-crossover

The 2019 BMW X4 will go on sale in Australia in the third quarter of 2018 and as you'd expect, there's a host of incremental changes across the model - not the least of which is the availability of the M Sport Package as a no-cost option across the X4 range.

Read the detailed Australian launch information here.

Other key changes include equipment upgrades – the BMW X3 has xLine styling as standard, with the M Sport Package a $3500 option on 20d and 20i. The X4, meanwhile, will get the M Sport Package as a no-cost option across the range.

The X4 20i and 20d model grades will get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard equipment, compared to the 6.5-inch unit standard in entry-level versions of the X3.

X4 also gets Parking Assistant Plus as standard, which adds fully-automated parking, surround-view cameras and active park distance control.

The xDrive20d gains 20Nm over the outgoing model, while the M40i has 40kW and 100Nm more than the previous 35i turbocharged six-cylinder variant.

New X4 is 4752mm long (+81mm), 1918mm wide (+37mm), 1621mm high (-3mm), and has a wheelbase of 2864mm (+54mm). Luggage space is up 25L and 30L with the rear seats in place and folded down respectively, to 525L and 1430L. Rear legroom has been increased by 27mm. Adding to the sporty handling that BMW wanted, the rear track width is now 30mm wider.

It’s the first time BMW Individual programme has been available for X4, too. The new BMW X4 goes on sale in Australia in the third quarter of 2018.
