The Polestar Engineered upgrade package for the Volvo S60, V60 and XC60 T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrids has been detailed, ahead of the S60's formal debut next week.
The Polestar package has a revised engine control unit, which bumps the output of the US-spec plug-in hybrid drivetrain to 309kW of power and 670Nm of torque. That's an increase of 11kW and 30Nm over the standard 298kW/640Nm T8 Twin Engine setup.
Other changes include upgraded automatic transmission software, Öhlins shock absorbers, black chrome exhaust tips, new look alloy wheels, Polestar badges, and slotted disc brakes with Brembo calipers.
The Polestar Engineered package also debuts the sub-brand's new signature colour: gold. It can be found on the Brembo brake calipers, as well as the seat belts and shock absorbers.
First recipient of the new Polestar Engineered package will be the next-generation S60 sedan, which is scheduled to make its debut next week at the company's gleaming new factory in Charleston, South Carolina.
From 2019 the Polestar Engineered upgrade will also be available in the V60 wagon and XC60 crossover. The upgrade package will be "available globally in limited numbers" from Volvo dealers, as well as through the company's subscription service.
