2019 Jeep Renegade facelift revealed

Smallest Jeep gains tweaked looks, new engines

The facelifted Jeep Renegade has been unveiled ahead of its first official presentation at the Turin motor show.

If that sounds like an unusual place to launch a revised Jeep, remember the Renegade is produced primarily at Fiat Chrysler's plant in Melfi, Italy. The factory also produces the crossover's platform-mate, the Fiat 500X.

Under the bonnet, the Renegade will feature a new family of three- and four-cylinder petrol engines, including a 89kW 1.0-litre, and 1.3-litre available in both 112kW and 134kW trims.

Visually, the updated Renegade is distinguished by an new grille with wider slats. There's also a redesigned front bumper with repositioned indicators and fog lights.

The circular headlights seem smaller than before, and this top-spec model comes with LED driving lights and an LED main beam.

At the back, the tail-lights now have a shiny black plastic surround, and retain the original X-shaped motif, but the graphics have been redesigned to incorporate LED technology.

The tailgate has also been modified to include an external door handle below the number plate holder, and there are small changes to the rear bumper's design.

More details about the updated Renegade will be announced later this month.
