Fuel pump fault could cause power loss in 51 vehicles

BMW Australia has issued a recall for the 2017-18 'F90' M5 sedan over concerns about a faulty fuel pump.

The manufacturer reports a software fault is to blame for the issue, which could cause the pump to "stop working while the car is in motion".

If the condition occurs, the vehicle could lose power, posing an accident risk.

There are 51 affected M5 units, sold from 21 August 2017 through 18 April 2018. A VIN list is attached here.

Owners of the recalled super sedans will be contacted by BMW's local arm, or a BMW dealer. Alternatively, customers can contact 1800 813 299 for more information.
