2011 Mercedes-Benz SL Spy Photos

The Mercedes-Benz SL is once again caught undergoing testing in an updated guise in Germany. However this is the first time we've seen the car doing laps around the Nürburgring. Our photographer says four Mercedes-Benz SL Prototypes showed up to the track late in the afternoon and began their testing.

The new fascia as well as the enormous space for the three-pointed star are an easy give away. It seems the headlamps are slightly more upright and shorter than those found in the current SL.

Mercedes-Benz has covered the entire hood in plastic cladding, making it difficult to see if there any new creases. Perhaps the German company is planning some more aggressive lines to see the SL's styling look similar to the SLS'.

It's likely Mercedes-Benz will unveil the car towards the end of this year.
