2018 Alpine A110 pricing and specs

Mid-engined French sports car to kick off from $97,000

Renault Australia has announced pricing and specifications for the 2018 Alpine A110 range, which is available to order now from $97,000 before on-road costs – $8000 more than the Alfa Romeo 4C.

Three variants are available at launch – Pure, Legende, and the Australian Premiere Edition – with the first two scheduled to arrive in the first quarter of 2019, and the latter slated for a fourth-quarter launch this year.

We'll start off with the first arrival, the Australian Premiere Edition, which is priced at $106,500 plus on-road costs.

Limited to just 60 units, the launch edition is only available with Alpine Blue metallic paint, and gets features like high-performance front and rear Brembo 'bi-material' brakes, and an active sports exhaust.

There's also Sabelt one-piece bucket seats in "lightweight design" finished in leather and microfibre, 18-inch Fuchs forged alloys, rear parking sensors, a blue Alpine logo on the steering wheel, blue Alpine brake calipers, aluminium pedals and a Focal audio system. Additionally, each example will get a numbered plaque.

Meanwhile, the core range will kick off with the Pure ($97,000), designed to offer the "most stripped-back driving experience and an unfiltered connection between driver and machine".

Standard specification includes 18-inch alloys, the same one-piece leather/microfibre Sabelt seats as the Australian Premiere Edition, carbon-fibre trim inserts, selectable drive modes, climate control, satellite navigation, along with LED head- and tail-lights.

Options for the base grade include Brembo brakes and the active sports exhaust available on the Premiere Edition, along with an alternative 18-inch wheel design and more powerful Focal audio system.

Buyers can also tick the boxes for parking sensors front and rear, along with a rear-view camera on the base trim level.

Finally, the Legende will arrive with the Pure grade in the first quarter of 2019, priced from $103,500 before ORCs.

Pitched as a "sophisticated grand tourer with a refined personality", the Legende gains equipment like heated six-way adjustable 'comfort' seats, full leather upholstery (in black or brown), gloss carbon-fibre interior trim, the Focal audio system, front and rear parking sensors, rear-view camera, along with two-tone 'Legende' 18-inch alloys which pay homage to the rims worn by the original A110 Berlinette 1600S.

The Legende is also available with cost options like a Focal Premium audio system with subwoofer, an active sports exhaust, and the Heritage Package, which adds a chrome rod on the bonnet and front bumper in the style of the original Berlinette .

Regardless of trim level, all Alpine A110 variants are powered by a mid-mounted 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which claims outputs of 185kW and 320Nm.

Drive is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, with 0-100km/h taking a claimed 4.5 seconds.

The Alpine A110 will be sold in Australia through an "exclusive network" of dedicated Alpine dealerships, the first being Brighton Alpine in Victoria – located next to the existing Renault showroom on the Nepean Highway.

Customers can now reserve their A110 by contacting Brighton Alpine or downloading the Alpine smartphone application. Alternatively, you can contact Alpine Australia on (03) 8595 2922.

Andrew Moore, managing director for Renault Australia, said: "With the all-new A110, Alpine have taken the core principles of agility, a light weight vehicle and a low centre of gravity that made Alpine so successful in the sixties and seventies and reimagined them for a modern consumer".

“We are thrilled to appoint Brighton Alpine as our first authorised Alpine dealer in Australia. Dealer Principal, Mark Avis, and his team have the expertise and passion to ensure that Alpine Australia follows the lead of Europe and quickly becomes a success story."

The Alpine A110 is available to order now.
