Toyota GT86 Club Series Blue Edition revealed for the UK
More focused sports car is very blue, uncertain for Australia
Toyota UK has revealed the GT86 Club Series Blue Edition, a special-edition version of the popular sports car complete with visual enhancements and the option of upgraded mechanicals – still no turbo, though.
Priced from £29,980 ($52,667), the Club Series Blue Edition is available with either the six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic, and can be specified with the also-optional Performance Pack which adds niceties like Sachs suspension and dampers, larger Brembo brakes, and 17-inch black alloy wheels.
Meanwhile, the standard Blue Edition brings exclusive Electric Blue exterior paint, contrasting black details for the grille, rear wing, diffuser, mirror caps and fog-light surrounds. Inside, the special model gets leather/Alcantara combination trim.
Power comes from the same 2.0-litre 'boxer' engine as the standard car, developing 152kW (147kW auto) and 212Nm (205Nm auto), sent to the rear wheels.
Toyota's British arm claims the GT86 can sprint from 0-100km/h in 7.7 seconds (8.4 seconds auto), on its way to a top speed of 225km/h (209km/h auto).
Equipment carried over from the UK-market GT86 Pro specification includes a limited-slip differential, cruise control, automatic LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, LED tail-lights, and the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system.
The GT86 Club Series Blue Edition is available in the UK now, priced from £29,980 ($52,667) in standard form, or £30,455 ($53,502) with the Performance Pack.
Australia
We've contacted Toyota's local division regarding local prospects, which has confirmed the car won't be coming to Australia.
It has, however, said we're getting a similar 'Apollo Blue' as an option on the GTS grade when specified with the Performance Pack ($2950 total).
