2019 Fiat 500X facelift spied

More revealing shots taken in southern Europe

The facelifted Fiat 500X has been photographed during real-world hot weather testing in southern Europe.

Compared to the last prototype, seen in March this year, this latest model is wearing a lighter camouflage kit, which does without any false body panels.

This means we can more clearly see the updated grille and lower air dam, revised front bumper design, updated headlight graphics, and new fog lamps.

Around the back we can see, for the first time, the crossover's new tail-light design, which is heavily influenced by the setup used in the 500 hatch. There are also design revisions for the rear bumper.

The updated car's interior has yet to be spied, but we would be surprised if it received major surgery. The usual range of trim fiddles are more likely, although the company's latest infotainment system and safety equipment is likely to be offered.

Under the bonnet, the 500X is expected to continue with a selection four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, most featuring the assistance of a turbocharger.

The revised 500X is expected to debut later this year, possibly at or just ahead of the Paris motor show in September. If this prediction holds true, the updated 500X won't arrive in Australia until 2019.
