Genesis: Oz launch pushed back to Q4
Luxury brand's arrival delayed once again
Genesis, luxury subsidiary of Hyundai, won't be arriving in Australia until at least the fourth quarter of 2018 – after previously being scheduled for the third quarter.
Public relations manager for Hyundai Australia, Guido Schenken, confirmed the news this week, meaning we won't see the G70 (top) or G80 (formerly Hyundai Genesis) until very late this year.
Unfortunately, the brand's PR manager was unable to cite any official reasons for the delay.
It's nearly been two whole years since the updated G80 (below) was revealed in North America, headlined by the addition of a new 'Sport' grade featuring the same 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 that is now available in the Kia Stinger.
Originally, the G80 was meant to spearhead the brand's launch in Australia during 2017, but the rollout has been delayed on several occasions since.
Additionally, Genesis has revealed and launched the mid-size G70 in markets like North America – which shares much of its mechanical package with the aforementioned Stinger – and is also high on the wish list for Australia.
