2016 Ford Kuga, 2017 Escape recalled

Airbag issues force 181 cars to be called back

Ford Australia has recalled the 2016 Kuga and 2017 Escape over concerns about the driver-knee and side airbags.

According to the company, the airbag initiators on the side airbags and/or driver-knee airbags mightn't deploy in an accident, increasing the risk of injury.

There's 181 vehicles included in the campaign, which affects Kuga models built on July 29, 2016 and Escapes built between August 1, 2016 and October 27, 2016.

You can check out the VIN list for affected cars here (Kuga) and here (Escape).

Ford will contact affected owners and advise them to contact their nearest dealer for a fix. Concerned owners can call 1800 503 672 for more information.
