Just release it, please? Please! PLEASE!
BMW isn't afraid to drag out the M850i's pre-production tease. We've seen camouflaged photos and race-ready versions of the upcoming super-coupe, but the full reveal will have to wait until Le Mans in June.
In the meantime, we've got another pre-production look at the car, this time with comment from some senior engineers.
Here's what we know about the big BMW grand tourer: it'll be powered by a 'new' twin-turbo V8 engine making 390kW of power and 750Nm of torque, put to the road through an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
The rear axle will play host to an electrically-controlled differential lock, along with active steering, while the car will ride on 20-inch alloy wheels.
Adaptive suspension and optional active roll stabilisation are both part of the package, too. These are all sports-car features, but BMW also says the 8 Series will nail its role as a big, comfortable grand tourer.
Check out the video above for a look at the M850i xDrive in development, and stay tuned for full details at launch in June.
