2019 BMW 7 Series facelift spied

Slimmer lights, bigger grille are on their way

The facelifted BMW 7 Series has been spied doing some hot laps around the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Compared to the spy photo set taken in January, this latest 7 Series prototype looks to be wearing production versions of its revised headlamps and tail-lights, albeit heavily taped up and disguised.

This car seems to be fitted with a slimmer set of headlights with Laserlight internals. There's also a larger and even more in-your-face grille similar to the ones seen on the X7 iPerformance Concept, as well as various prototypes of the next-generation X5 and new X7 crossovers.

Other cosmetic changes include redesigned front and rear bumpers, as well as squarer cutouts housing the exhaust tips.

We expect the revised model to feature added safety and convenience equipment. The flagship sedan will almost certainly feature the company's latest infotainment system, and may also employ a fully digital instrument display, similar to the one destined for the 8 Series coupe.

Under the skin, suspension tweaks are almost a certainty. There could also be upgraded drivetrains in some models. With the upcoming M850i xDrive powered by a "new" V8 packing 390kW of power and 750Nm of torque, the 750i and 750Li should receive a similar setup.
