2004-07 Jeep Cherokee recalled
4999 SUVs fitted with potentially faulty rear suspension arms
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has issued a recall for the 2004-07 Jeep 'KJ' Cherokee over concerns the rear suspension lower control arms could break.
The manufacturer reports that affected vehicles may experience "excessive corrosion" on the rear control arm and, if broken, the vehicle could be harder to control – posing a hazard to drivers.
Jeep has confirmed 4999 Cherokee units are affected by this notice. A VIN list for these vehicles can be viewed here.
Owners of the recalled SUVs will be contacted by FCA Australia when parts becoming available – expected to be in June 2018. Customers will then be able to schedule an inspection and repair with their local dealer.
