2018 Aston Martin DB11 AMR revealed – UPDATE

British GT gets a power boost and racier running kit

Update (14/5/18): Aston Martin's local division has confirmed the DB11 AMR for an Australian release later this year, priced from $428,000. See bottom of article for details.

The Aston Martin DB11 AMR has been revealed, serving as the new flagship of the British GT's line-up.

Launched at the opening of the company's new performance centre at the Nurburgring, the DB11 AMR features an array of upgrades inside and out for a more "vivid driving experience".

Key upgrades include a more powerful 470kW/700Nm 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 (up 23kW), a new shift calibration for the eight-speed automatic transmission, a "more vocal" exhaust system, carbon-fibre and darkened exterior highlights, leather and Alcantara upholstery, and a sports leather steering wheel.

With the extra grunt, the DB11 AMR now sprints from 0-100km/h in just 3.7 seconds (down 0.2 seconds), on its way to a top speed of 334km/h (up 12km/h).

In addition to the standard colour and trim offerings, the DB11 AMR is available in three Designer Specifications, along with a special AMR Signature Edition (pictured).

The Signature Edition is limited to just 100 units globally, and gets exclusive appointments like more "extensive" carbon-fibre detailing for the exterior, a Stirling Green and Lime livery, Dark Knight leather and Lime interior trim, as well as Satin Dark Chrome switchgear and Satin Carbon Fibre veneer.

Aston Martin is also offering a range of race-inspired accessories and options for the DB11 AMR, including a carbon-fibre engine cover, exhaust tips and spoiler, carbon-fibre sports steering wheel and paddle shifters, tailored luggage sets matched to the vehicle's specification, different alloy wheels, and various colour and trim alternatives.

Deliveries in the UK are scheduled to commence later in the second quarter of 2018, with prices starting at £174,995 ($314,151) for the DB11 AMR and £201,995 ($362,621) for the Signature Edition.
