Jaguar F-Type SVR and XJR575 join Ring Taxi fleet
Buckle up and hold on tight, this ride could be bumpy
Jaguar has added an F-Type SVR and XJR575 to the 'Ring Taxi' fleet, giving fans of the brand a chance to lap the legendary Nurburgring North Loop with a race driver behind the wheel.
The cars themselves are standard, which means the F-Type SVR makes 420kW of power and 700Nm of torque from a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine. It'll hit 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds from standstill.
Meanwhile, the XJR575 is powered by the same engine but hits 100km/h in a more leisurely 4.4 seconds, and tops out at 300km/h. You'll want to hold on tight around the Nurburgring Nordschleife, then.
"A ride in the F-Type SVR and XJR575 Race Taxi is a thrilling and truly unforgettable experience for any car enthusiast – or anybody who just enjoys going very fast," said Phil Talboys, European engineering operations manager at Jaguar Land Rover.
"Our highly experienced professional drivers are veterans of the Nürburgring 24-hour race, making them uniquely qualified to show customers the true potential of these extraordinary supercharged V8 Jaguars."
Jaguar isn't alone in offering a Ring Taxi for keen punters – BMW has been doing it for a long time, offering rides in a V10 M5 and then, more recently, the M3.
Rides don't come cheap: you'll pay €199 ($320) per lap for a ride with the XJR575 or F-Type SVR.
