2019 BMW 8 Series interior spied undisguised

Images turn up on Instagram

The BMW 8 Series has been spied again, but this time we've been treated to an undisguised look at the car's interior.

These images were posted overnight by Wilco Blok on his Instagram feed, and they seem to have been taken while the 8 Series prototype was in transit.

The new range-topping vehicle is among the first BMW's fitted with a new-generation digital instrumentation screen, the design for which was previewed recently.

The prototype seen here features a large and wide high-resolution infotainment screen resting above a narrow set of air-conditioning vents.

Like all other manufacturers BMW will keep piling more and more features into its cars, but unlike some of its contemporaries, such as Audi, the Bavarian car maker will continue to offer a generous selection of physical buttons.

Air-conditioning controls and infotainment shortcuts live underneath the central air vents, and there's an iDrive controller, and various drive mode and driver assistance buttons surrounding the gear selector.

Last month BMW revealed some details about the M850i xDrive variant, which will be powered by a "completely redeveloped" V8 engine cranking out 390kW of power and 750Nm of torque. Drive for this model will be sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

We expect the new 8 Series to be unveiled in the near future.
