McLaren 570GT MSO Cabbeen Collection revealed for China
Bespoke Sports Series limited to just five units
The McLaren 570GT MSO Cabbeen Collection has been unveiled for the Beijing motor show, sporting unique appointments tailored for Chinese tastes.
Designed in collaboration with Chinese fashion designer, Mr. Cabbeen, the bespoke McLaren 570GT by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) is limited to just five units, and sports a unique black/gold colour scheme.
Key features include hand-painted gold dragon door inserts, along with 'Bespoke Gloss Speedline Gold' 15-spoke GT alloy wheels and brake calipers (below).
McLaren says the limited-run Sports Series collection embodies the philosophy: "Designed in China, made in the UK".
"As a fusion of contemporary British design style and Chinese classic art elements, the 570GT MSO Cabbeen Collection was created to satisfy Chinese customers' desire for individualisation and is further evidence of the growing interest in MSO services in the China market," said Ansar Ali, managing director for MSO.
"McLaren Special Operations is dedicated to providing customers with tailored choices that offer them almost endless personalisation alternatives."
Inside, the 570GT Cabbeen gets carbon sill covers, and eye-catching embroidered gold sculptural dragons in the Alcantara-trimmed front centre tunnel and rear luggage deck – said to be an example of Chao Embroidery, part of China's cultural heritage.
The dragons on all five vehicles were sewn by Kang Huifang, director of the Professional Embroidery Committee of Chinas Arts and Crafts Institute and renowned artist with over four decades of experience in Chao Embroidery.
Like the 'standard' version, the 570GT Cabbeen is powered by a mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8, making 420kW of power and 600Nm of torque.
