Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 drags Dodge Demon – video

Which muscle car wins the day?

Ever wondered who would win out of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and Dodge Challenger SRT Demon at a drag strip? This video could have the answer.

Posted by Farmer Machine Co Racing, the new clip shows the two wild muscle cars settling the score once and for all at Richmond Dragway in Virginia, USA.

Let's compare the pair. In the General Motors corner you have the Corvette ZR1 (above), packing a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 making 563kW (755hp) of power and 969Nm of torque.

Meanwhile, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon also features a 6.2-litre supercharged V8, though it's of the Hemi variety. Outputs are quoted at 626kW and 1044Nm, giving it the title of the most powerful V8 production vehicle ever.

In terms of claimed performance figures, Chevrolet says the Corvette ZR1 can sprint from 0-60mph (0-97km/h) in 2.85 seconds, and cover the quarter-mile sprint in just 10.6 seconds straight out of the factory.

The Demon (above), on the other hand, claims a 0-60mph sprint in just 2.3 seconds, while the quarter mile is dispatched in 9.65 seconds.

But we won't bore you with any more 'figures', how about you watch the clip above to see which American muscle car comes out on top – the result may surprise you!
