Rolls-Royce Cullinan to be revealed May 10 – report

Uber-luxe SUV is just a week away. Get excited folks!

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan looks set for an official reveal on May 10, according to a new report.

While we're yet to hear any official announcement from the British luxury marque, Carscoops claims the company has "confirmed" its new 'high-sided vehicle' will be revealed at 7:00am EDT on May 10.

Little else is revealed, so we can only speculate about what's to come from the company's first SUV – though expect it to draw heavily from the related Phantom limousine.

The Cullinan will be based on the same aluminium-intensive spaceframe as the Phantom, dubbed the "Architecture of Luxury", which reduces weight and improves handling.

Also expected is Rolls-Royce's latest in infotainment and driver assistance, along with a new all-wheel drive system – the latter will likely be based on BMW's xDrive technology.

Power is likely to come from a version of the 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 as the new Phantom, meaning outputs should be in the vicinity of 420kW and 900Nm, and performance should be brisk, too.

Stay tuned to CarAdvice for our coverage of the Cullinan's reveal next week.
