The 2019 Ford Focus might be newer, but the the current Mk7.5 Volkswagen Golf has carried favour in our latest poll.
Volkswagen's long-running staple commanded 63 per cent of the vote in our poll, which had more than 1500 responses.
The Mk7.5 Golf touched down in the middle of 2017, complete with an overhauled suite of in-car and active safety technology.
Meanwhile, the Focus was fully revealed on April 11. Along with the hatch, the fourth-generation small car will be offered in sedan, wagon, and high-riding Active guises. The new model will be built in Germany for our market, with the hatchback and wagon already confirmed for a November launch Down Under.
