2017-18 Nissan Qashqai recalled
Crossovers could have faulty indicator failure indicators
Nissan Australia has issued a recall for its 2017-18 Qashqai over concerns a faulty Body Control Module (BCM) may not warn drivers that the indicator lamps have failed.
The Japanese manufacturer reports the UK-built crossover's BCM may not trigger a warning (double speed flashing) due to an incorrect software setting.
If the condition occurs, the driver won't be aware that their indicator lights are not functioning correctly, and this could pose a hazard to the driver and other road users.
Affected Qashqai units were built between September 2017 through January 2018. A VIN list for these vehicles can be viewed here.
Nissan will contact the owners of affected models, and advise them to get in touch with their local dealer to arrange a free repair.
