Brabham BT62 teased… again

It's gonna have a big wing

Brabham Automotive has provided the clearest look at its upcoming BT62 supercar yet, offering a glimpse at the car's ginormous rear wing and, finally, revealing some performance figures.

According to the company – which pays homage to legendary Formula 1 driver, Sir Jack Brabham, with its name – the BT62 will be powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.4-litre V8 engine making 700hp (522kW) of power.

It'll weigh less than 1000kg, and that huge rear wing will help the car produce upwards of 1200kg of downforce at speed, both of which are seriously impressive figures. Of course, it's easy to generate crazy numbers on paper, the real test will come when the rubber actually meets the road for BT62.

Eagle-eyed hypercar spotters will notice the BT62 and McLaren Senna look quite similar from directly behind, with slim brake lights and a gigantic rear wing. It'll be interesting to see if there are any other similarities when the Brabham Automotive car is fully revealed in two weeks time.

Just 70 examples of the BT62 will be built, with a starting price of around $1.8 million. In other words, get in quickly.
