Ford Performance news, and Volkswagen's dual-cab one-upsmanship


The automotive news wheel is always turning. If you’re not constantly checking CarAdvice – which you should be doing, by the way – it can be easy for some headlines to slip through the cracks.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti coming Down Under 

There's a punchier Alfa Romeo SUV on the way to Australia, and it'll be here before the end of the year. With 206kW and 400Nm on tap, it'll hit 100km/h in 5.7 seconds, and rides on 20-inch alloy wheels. There's some unique gear inside, too, designed to make things a bit 'sportier'.


2019 Lexus ES revealed 

We're still a week away from the full unveiling, but Lexus has given us a look at the front of the ES – and consensus is that it looks good. With headlights similar to those of the LS, and a smaller Spindle Grille than we're used to, it shows plenty of promise.


Volkswagen Amarok: 200kW confirmed for new V6

"We said we'd not be left behind in the ute output stakes," Paul Pottinger, communications boss for Volkswagen Australia, said.

"Now the Amarok's performance superiority is even more pronounced."


2018 BMW M2 Competition revealed 

BMW has doubled the turbocharger count, upped power by 30kW and boosted torque by 85Nm. There's new suspension, new wheels and a completely overhauled cooling system for the track. In other words? It's a seriously mean little beast.


2018 Kia Picanto GT-Line pricing and specs 

Essentially the AO Edition released earlier this year, the GT-Line Picanto adds a dash of flair to the littlest Kia. Along with 16-inch alloy wheels and red body accents, there's a six-speaker stereo inside and alloy sports pedals.



2018 Toyota HiLux Rogue, Rugged and Rugged X pricing and specs 

Toyota has announced pricing for its new rough-and-tumble specials, the HiLux Rogue, Rugged and Rugged X. They'll kick off at $54,990 and run to $61,690 before on-road costs.


Ford Performance brand launched in Australia, Mustang headed for Supercars

"Ford Performance is about technology, innovation and product performance and to showcase our confidence in our performance range, we are bringing Mustang and the Ranger Raptor to the Supercars series in 2019," said Graeme Whickman, Ford Australia CEO.

"We’re proud to announce that Ford Australia, with our Ford Performance global team, is working with DJR Team Penske and Tickford Racing to homologate Mustang for 2019."


Ford Fiesta ST confirmed for Australia 

It's coming Down Under! Ford will be bringing the Fiesta ST to Australia, while the rest of the range stays at home.
