2020 Pininfarina PF0 teased

400km/h top speed, anyone?

Pininfarina has teased its upcoming pure-electric rival to the Bugatti Chiron, the PF0, in a pair of sketches on social media.

Along with the images you see here, Pininfarina has gone to the trouble of revealing some preliminary performance figures, and they're eye-watering.

According to the company, the car will hit 100km/h in less than 2.0 seconds, keep pulling t0 300km/h in 12 seconds and top out beyond 400km/h. The car is expected to share engineering with Mahindra's Formula E team and Rimac.

Those are serious numbers, with acceleration promised to be on par with the second-generation Tesla Roadster and a top speed to shame the LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder.

The body is going to be made of carbon-fibre, with lights linked in a continuous strip – including a nod to the much-loved, rarely-seen pop-up headlights.

Pininfarina is promising to have the PF0 on sale by 2020. Pricing is expected to start at US$2 million ($2.56 million) and build numbers are said to be incredibly limited, although that's not confirmed.
