Hennessey reveals 1000hp Grand Cherokee Trackhawk
Upgraded SUV goes from 0-100 real quick
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk was hardly what you'd call meek, but tuning specialist Hennessey has revealed its version of the Hellcat-powered SUV, complete with a massive 1000 horsepower (745kW).
Dubbed the Jeep Trackhawk HPE1000, the upgraded version of the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk features a range of modifications including a larger and more powerful supercharger system, upgraded high-flow fuel injectors, a fuel pump upgrade, unique floor mats, along with Hennessey badging and plaques throughout the exterior and interior.
The modifications make for a manic torque figure of 969lb-ft (1314Nm), and a claimed 0-60mph (0-96km/h) time of 2.8 seconds. Additionally, the quarter mile is dispatched in just 10.5 seconds at 133mph (214km/h).
By comparison, the 'standard' Trackhawk makes 527kW of power and 874Nm of torque from its supercharged 6.2-litre V8, and claims to hit triple figures from a standstill in a still-impressive 3.7 seconds.
In addition to the aforementioned upgrades, buyers of the HPE1000 package also have their vehicle receive chassis dyno testing with a before/after dyno graph showing power and torque measured at the rear wheels, along with up to 200 miles (322km) of road testing after the tuning program.
The Trackhawk HPE1000 is also covered by Hennessey Performance's 1-year/12,000 mile (19,312km) warranty.
Limited to the US market at this stage, pricing is yet to be confirmed for the HPE1000 package, though it's believed the upgrade could ask for around US$50,000 ($64,237) over the standard car, which in Australia retails for $134,900 before on-road costs.
