Toyota Kluger recalled for brake fix

22 SUVs caught up in latest campaign

Toyota Australia has recalled a handful of Kluger SUVs, over concerns the vacuum pump for the brake booster could fail.

According to the company, a lubrication passage inside the vacuum pump could have been compromised during manufacture. That could cause an internal failure of the pump.

If the condition occurs, there's a risk drivers will suddenly lose braking assist, increasing the chances of an accident.

A total of 22 units are included in the recall – a VIN list is attached here.

Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted by mail, and asked to contact their nearest dealer for a fix. Anyone concerned, or chasing more information, can call 1800 987 366.
