2019 Chevrolet Malibu revealed

Mid-size sedan gets new design, upgraded equipment and tech

The facelifted 2019 Chevrolet Malibu has been revealed for North America, boasting an array of cosmetic, equipment and technology upgrades over its predecessor.

For the US-market 2019 model year, Chevrolet has given its mid-size sedan a new front fascia, grille, and headlights, along with a new rear treatment and dual-element tail-lights – which are also available with LED internals on high-spec models.

Also new for 2019 is a sporty RS variant (pictured in red), which gets blacked-out styling elements for the grille and badging, and unique 18-inch alloy wheels

Other upgrades for the new model year include an 8.0-inch configurable driver's display, Chevrolet Infotainment 3 as standard equipment (including an 8.0-inch central touchscreen display), available satellite radio, rear-view camera now standard from Malibu L grade up, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) on models fitted with the 121kW/250Nm 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.

Finally, the flagship Malibu Premier variant gains heated seats for rear outboard passengers.

US pricing for the updated range is still to be confirmed, but don't expect to see the Malibu name returning to Holden showrooms for the time being.
