Lamborghini Aventador SV ‘Jota’ spied

Craziest Lambo ever likely to debut later this year

A prototype believed to be the Lamborghini Aventador SV Jota has been spied this week, giving us a closer look at the craziest vehicle ever to wear the Raging Bull badge.

While the name is still to be confirmed, the SV Jota badge was last worn by the hottest Miura ever made – which was only limited to just a handful of units globally.

Expect a super-limited run of these all-out Aventadors to be made, featuring an uprated version of the current car's 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 – which makes 544kW and 690Nm in the Aventador S.

In addition to the more powerful engine, the Aventador SV Jota will feature an array of aero upgrades, likely drawing upon the Huracan Performante's Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) active aerodynamics components for the front spoiler and rear wing.

Together with an extended use of carbon-fibre and other lightweight materials, the Aventador SV Jota should also be significantly lighter than the 'standard' car, meaning it will be something of a track weapon – the Aventador shouldn't be slower than a Huracan, right?

It's also believed a drop-top version will join the coupe you see pictured here.

As for timing, the Aventador SV Jota is expected to debut in the coming months ahead of a market launch by year's end or early 2019.
