Poll: 2018 Aston Martin Vantage vanquishes Porsche 911
And it's a Japanese SUV face-off this week
Aston Martin was clear about its goal for the new Vantage: it wants to take down the Porsche 911.
The embargo on drive impressions lifts soon – April 12, to be precise – but if our most recent poll is an accurate guide, the company is on the right track.
A whopping 66 per cent of respondents preferred the Vantage to the Porsche 911, in a sign the car's more aggressive new look is a winner.
Power comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine in the compact Aston Martin, making 375kW and 685Nm. Unlike the rear-engined Porsche, power in the Vantage comes from up front.
