2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR revealed – UPDATE

404kW supercharged SUV breaks cover ahead of New York debut

Update: New images and details have been released by Jaguar. See article for details

Yep, the rumours are true. The 2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR is official. Images and details of the new performance SUV have been announced at the 2018 New York motor show, and they're predictably impressive – or terrifying, depending on how you look at it.

The images show a subtly upgraded F-Pace with a more aggressive body kit, larger alloy wheels and brakes, along with a rear diffuser treatment incorporating quad tailpipes.

Headlining the SUV performance flagship is what lies under the bonnet – a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 making 404kW of power and 680Nm of torque. That's a healthy 124kW more than the current F-Pace S range topper with its supercharged V6.

The F-Pace SVR is claimed to dash from 0-60mph (0-96km/h) in 4.1 seconds, and 0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds. A top whack of 283km/h (176mph) is reported as well.

Drive is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission, including torque vectoring and an electronic limited-slip differential at the rear.

Upgrades under the skin include stiffer adaptive suspension, a more rigid chassis, and a revised electric power steering system.

Filling the arches are standard 21-inch alloys, with larger 22-inch wheels optional. Regardless of diameter, the rims are of the lightweight variety, while the standard units are 25mm wider at the rear compared to the front. Behind the new rims are 395mm front and 396mm rear two-piece brake discs

Out back is Jaguar's Variable Active Exhaust System, which provides a "charismatic soundtrack" and saves 6.6kg compared to the standard F-Pace system.

Inside, there's slimline performance front seats that "provide enhanced lateral support", trimmed in leather with signature lozenge quilting and embossed SVR logos.

Four interior colourways will be offered, too. Choices include Red with Jet (black), Light Oyster with Jet, Siena Tan with Jet, and Jet with Light Oyster stitching.

Other interior features include a 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 4G WiFi hotspot that can be paired with up to eight devices.

It's just as practical as the standard F-Pace as well, claiming 650L of luggage space behind the second row of seats. The F-Pace will be priced from £74,835 ($137,969) in the UK when it goes on sale in June.

Australia

Jaguar Land Rover's local division has confirmed the F-Pace SVR will be available to order from "mid-2018", with pricing to be announced "shortly".
