Lynk & Co 02 revealed

Chinese brand to launch first Euro dealer in Amsterdam

Shortly after detailing its European launch plans, Chinese start-up Lynk & Co has revealed its latest model – the 02 crossover.

Launched in Amsterdam, the Lynk & Co 02 is the third offering to be unveiled by the Geely subsidiary, joining the larger 01 SUV and the 03 sedan.

Compared to the 01, the 02 features a shorter wheelbase, lower ride height and lower centre of gravity, giving it a more athletic and youthful aesthetic.

Lynk & Co will offer the 02 with various two-tone colour schemes and alloy wheel designs for added dimensions of personalisation.

Further details regarding the 02's powertrain and mechanical package are yet to be detailed, but it's almost certainly based on the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) developed by parent Geely and sister company Volvo, utilising plug-in hybrid powertrains like the larger 01.

We'd guess the 02 will be more city-focused and dynamic than the 01 due to its more compact dimensions and lower ride height, adding to the youthful buyer focus.

Inside, the 02 features a driver-oriented dashboard design with a large central infotainment display and a fully-digital instrument cluster.

Buyers can opt for an array of colours, trim inserts and contrasting stitching. The example pictured above features a black interior with contrasting orange stitching and a snakeskin-like trim insert in the doors.

The company says all its vehicles offer a range of connected technologies – and the 02 is no different. Drivers have access to the Lynk & Co app store, while the infotainment system is "always connected to the internet and the car's own cloud".

In addition to announcing its plans to produce European-market vehicles at Volvo's Belgium factory, Lynk & Co confirmed its first European 'Offline Store' will be located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. More stores will be added in Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels and London shortly after.

The company has made no announcements regarding the Australian market at this stage, with the main focus being on China, Europe and the US.
