Renault Clio RS18 limited edition unveiled
Super-limited special lands Down Under this weekend
Special editions are popping up left, right and centre from most manufacturers at the moment, but few companies enjoy themed sticker packs like Renault.
The previous Clio RS and Megane RS were both subject to countless Formula 1-inspired special editions, and the current Clio RS220 EDC Trophy has been handed the same fate.
Meet the Renault Clio RS18. Named after this year's Renault Formula 1 competitor, just 10 examples will be offered to Australian buyers.
First things first, there's no more power. That means you get the same 162kW and 280Nm from a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, put to the front wheels through a dual-clutch transmission.
Along with the chassis tweaks, the RS18 stands out thanks to bespoke badging on the doors, grey decals on the flanks and graphics on the roof. You also get Liquid Yellow highlights on the front 'splitter', side skirts and wheel centre caps, designed to contrast with the Deep Black paint.
The interior has been brightened with numbered build plates on the door sills, carbon-fibre style trim around the air vents and an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel.

"Its sporting credentials are expressed by a number of design flourishes drawn directly from the world of Formula 1. The Renault Clio RS18 is an eloquent illustration of the close bond that exists between our motorsport activities and our road cars."
Just 10 examples of the RS18 will be offered locally, priced at $39,990 before on-road costs. The first example built will be on show at the Melbourne Grand Prix this weekend.
