2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet revealed
Fresh looks, new tech and new powertrains, here in August
The facelifted 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet range have been revealed this week, ahead of an Australian introduction in August.
Headlining the mid-life upgrade is a revised design, the availability of a digital instrument cluster, and new mild-hybrid 'EQ Boost' technology for select powertrains – basically, everything from the new sedan and wagon.
Other updates include new LED headlamps as standard, with optional Multibeam LED units, new alloy wheel designs, new exterior colours, a 10.25-inch central infotainment system, new steering wheel, the availability of the company's new Dynamic Body Control suspension system, and driver-assistance systems from the larger S-Class.
At its European launch in July, the core C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet line-up will be available in C200 petrol and C220d diesel guises – more variants will be available afterwards.
The C200 now gets the company's new EQ Boost 48V mild-hybrid system, adding a 12kW/160Nm electric motor with a 135kW/280Nm 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
With the electrified powertrain, the C200 Coupe is capable of completing the 0-100km/h dash in 7.9 seconds (8.5s Cabriolet), on its way to a top speed of 239km/h.
In select markets, the C200 will be available with 4Matic all-wheel drive, in both coupe and cabriolet forms.
Meanwhile, the C220d gets a 143kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel, for a 7.0-second 100km/h sprint (7.5s Cabriolet) and a claimed top speed of 240km/h.

Mercedes-Benz's local arm has confirmed the updated C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet range will go on sale in Australia from August.
