McLaren Special Operations has continued its never-ending run of limited-edition takes on Sport and Super Series cars, releasing the stealthy Black Collection 570GT.
Just 100 examples will be built, complete with a range of blacked-out touches both inside and out to justify the £179,950 ($327,600) asking price.
To start with, the 570GT Black Collection has been fitted with the Sport Pack handling package, along with an MSO Defined titanium exhaust for a sportier character offered in the ‘standard’ touring-focused GT. The exhaust shaves 5kg from the base car, and is around 5dB louder than stock to boot.
You still get the comfort-focused GT Upgrade Package complete with nose-lift, rear-view camera, power-adjustable steering column and a 12-speaker audio system.
The car rides on 10-spoke lightweight wheels finished in a new gloss black paint job, wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres. Meanwhile, the brake calipers have been given the black treatment to match the MSO Defined front and rear splitters, side skirts and air intakes.
Inside, the dark and moody theme continues with black leather, carbon black accents on the centre console, and heated seats with MSO branding on the headrests. Even the ignition key has been treated to a lick of paint. There’s a ‘Dedication Plate’ under the centre console to remind owners they’re in an MSO vehicle, in case the blacked-out exterior and interior aren’t enough to jog their memories.
There are still options, even though this is a high-price special edition. For a not-inconsiderable £4750 ($8650) you can option an electrochromic glass panoramic roof, with five different levels of electrically-adjusted tint. Very cool – or warm, if you’re that way inclined.
We’ve contacted McLaren Australia to see if any of the 100 MSO Black Collections will come to Australia. Stay tuned.
