2019 Kia K900 interior sketched

All-new Korean limousine previewed again ahead of likely New York debut

The interior of the next-generation 2019 Kia K900 has been previewed with a designer sketch ahead of an anticipated reveal at the New York motor show later this month.

Following a pair of exterior previews over the last 30 days, Kia has finally offered a glimpse at what's to come from the interior of its next-generation luxury flagship – which is arguably the most important aspect of an upper-large luxury vehicle.

Just a single view of the dashboard has been released, showing a luxurious new wood/leather steering wheel, a 12.3-inch fully-digital instrument display, and a large tablet-style widescreen infotainment system.

In terms of the overall design, there's quite a mix of Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series – the dashboard's shape is more like the former while the displays present like the latter.

Lashings of leather and wood adorn the interior surfaces, and Kia says there's metal accents as well.

Other confirmed features include a configurable ambient lighting system, which can be customised in 64 colours and seven themes, making for a "truly contemporary ambience".

It's still unknown what will power the new limousine, though we reckon the current model's V6 and V8 powertrain line-up should carryover, albeit with revised versions.

Kia has confirmed the new K900 will be manufactured in Korea, and will go on sale across "selected global markets" from the second quarter of 2018 – we don't know if Australia is one of those yet, as it hasn't been confirmed for right-hand drive.

Stay tuned for our coverage of the Kia K900's reveal in the coming weeks.
