This guy dumped expanding foam all over an old Mercedes and made something… Different

What do you do when you have an old CLK Mercedes and a huge batch of unused expanding foam?

What do you do when you have an old CLK Mercedes, a huge batch of unused expanding foam, and a LOT of spare time? Well.. This Lithuanian man may have found the perfect answer!

At first glance you could be forgiven for thinking that was Vigo from Ghostbusters, but it turns out he is quite handy with moulding a custom designer car from a junk wreck.

Whoever told him that his old CLK was better off at the tip obviously hadn't met this fellow. Being a creative genius who seemingly had an endless supply of expanding foam, he decided that he would have a stab at designing his own sports car by hand.

Over the course of 18 months the man transformed a regulard looking CLK into a work of art. I mean it might not be everyone's taste, but you have to hand it to him, he's certainly got skills.

Take a look at the step-by-step process he went through to refurbish his old car.

Making room for the massive 30x12" rims. Yes, 30s!

This guy sure has a good imagination.

Next get out your old batch of unused expanda-foam, and start... Foaming?

Once the foam hardens, you can start sculpting your creation.

Carving out the shape.

We can start to see where he is headed with this...

It doesn't look half bad really.

There is still a lot of work left to go. We won't ask why, but the mind boggles at just how much time and effort went into this project.

Filling in the small foam pockets with finer foam and sanding the surface.

This process is actually similar to how concept designers actually create their manufacturer concept cars.

I mean, if you look at Toyota's FT-1, that is actually pretty much just a foam shell on a Camry body, albeit done by a professional multi-million dollar design company "Calty Design", and not a random guy in his Lithuanian shed.

Careful measurements are taken to ensure symmetry.

With the exterior shape more or less complete, the mad man turns his attention to the interior. And you guessed it, that means more expanding foam.

As they say, it always looks worse before it gets better.

The interior actually looks incredibly impressive once complete. Just WOW!

It might not be everyone's taste, but you can't say that workmanship isn't impressive!
