2019 BMW Z4 to be revealed ahead of Paris motor show – report

Drop-top Supra twin to debut at standalone event

The new-generation 2019 BMW Z4 looks set to be revealed later this year, just before a public debut at the Paris motor show in October – according to a new report.

Industry journal Automotive News Europe cites a "person familiar with the situation", claiming the next-gen German sports car will be revealed at a standalone event prior to the Paris event.

"The new car will be shown at the Paris motor show, too, but currently the plan is to show it at its own dedicated event before then," said the anonymous source.

BMW could be planning to launch the new model exactly 12 months after the concept version (pictured), which was revealed in August at the Monterey Car Week in Pebble Beach, California.

It's no secret the new Z4 will have a lot in common with the upcoming Toyota Supra, we've known that for nearly four years. However, expect the new roadster to feature a range of turbocharged engines, a design heavily influenced by the concept, along with BMW's infotainment system and driver-assistance technologies.
