RUF SCR revealed in Geneva

Carbon chassis, classic looks and monstrous power

Almost exactly one year after revealing the reborn CTR in Geneva, RUF has whipped the covers off its big-money, lightweight take on the Porsche 911.

Meet the SCR, a nod to another of its famous tuned Porsches from the 1970s. The original was released in 1978, with power from a 3.2-litre flat-six making 162kW. It ran with dark green paint and a prominent whale-tail spoiler, along with bigger cooling ducts all around.

The modern iteration is significantly more powerful. Its naturally-aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine produces 380kW of power and 470Nm of torque, put to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. Top speed is a suitably impressive 320km/h.

Along with the modern engine, the new SCR is built around a bespoke carbon-fibre monocoque chassis. There's an inbuilt roll-cage, designed to stiffen the body further as well. All the body panels are made of the lightweight weave, helping keep kerb weight to just 1250kg.

RUF hasn't dedicated much time to talking about the SCR's suspension, but we know the car has pushrods at both ends.

Pricing for the SCR hasn't been announced, nor have build numbers. Just 40 examples of the CTR Yellow Bird revival were built, and we'd suggest the green machine you see here to be similarly rare.
