Honda Jazz X-Cross revealed
Light hatch crosses over in Europe, not for Australia
Honda's European division has revealed the Jazz X-Cross, a more rugged-looking version of its popular light hatch for those who may not want to go full-SUV.
Basically, the X-Cross is a cosmetic package, adding elements like wheel arch cladding, front and rear skid plates and side protection strips.
Inside is standard Jazz, with the only difference being a set of 'X-Road' floor mats – we don't have pictures because, well, there aren't any.
While this kind of vehicle isn't seen often in Australia, Europe is home to various crossover-styled versions of common hatchbacks – Volkswagen used to have the CrossPolo and CrossGolf in the previous generation, and Ford now has the Fiesta Active.
The Jazz X-Cross's powertrain is also carried over, meaning it uses the European version's 75kW/123Nm 1.3-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine mated to either a six-speed manual or CVT transmission.

Speaking with CarAdvice, Neil McDonald, Honda's local public relations boss, confirmed the Jazz X-Cross is a no-go for our market.
"It's a Europe only vehicle as our Jazz comes out of Thailand," he said. Shame.
