2018 Rimac C_Two revealed

0-100 in 1.97 seconds for Croatian EV

The Rimac C_Two has been revealed in Geneva this week, boasting some massive performance claims.

With four electric motors – one for each wheel – the C_Two claims outputs of 1408kW and 2300Nm. For reference, the Bugatti Chiron generates 'just' 1103kW of power and 1600Nm of torque from its quad-turbo W16 engine.

Those outputs translate to a 1.97-second run from 0-100km/h, on its way to a Bugatti-rivalling top speed of 412km/h. Despite its performance potential, Rimac claims the C_Two can drive up to 650 kilometres on a single charge from its 120kWh lithium-ion battery pack – which can be charged to 80 per cent capacity in just 30 minutes using a 250kW fast charger.

The C_Two is over half a second quicker to triple figures than its predecessor, 2.4 seconds quicker to 300km/h, and has a top speed 60km/h higher. Oh, the original was already pretty wild.

Just 150 examples of the Croatian electric hypercar will be built, featuring a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis, butterfly doors, aero-style forged alloy wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, along with active aerodynamics including a rear wing that raises, lowers and tilts for improved downforce, higher top speed or air braking.

It's nicely luxurious inside, too. There's a blue/brown interior colour scheme for the show car, electric seat and steering wheel adjustment, a fully-digital instrument cluster, and a large central touchscreen which houses the infotainment system.

Rimac has also fitted the C_Two with an array of cameras and sensors to make its capable of Level 4 autonomous driving. There's eight on-board cameras, a lidar sensor, six radar emitters and twelve ultrasonic sensors.

Other features include autonomous emergency braking, torque vectoring, and facial recognition "in lieu of a traditional key".

The price? We're no sure yet, though expect the C_Two to cost a pretty penny, or many. Click the photos tab for more images.
