2018 Kia Ceed Sportswagon leaked

Euro-market wagon surfaces online

The new-generation Kia Ceed Sportswagon has been leaked on the web, ahead of an official reveal at the Geneva motor show this week.

As expected, the wagon-bodied version of Kia's Europe-focused small car looks like the hatch up front, while borrowing styling from the larger Optima Sportswagon at the rear.

This pair of (low-res) exterior shots was shared by WorldScoopForum, with the vehicle's number plates reading 'Ceed SW'.

No interior images have been revealed, though the Ceed Sportswagon will likely have an identical dashboard layout to the recently-revealed hatchback. Key differences will include rear seat accommodation and the much larger boot area.

Engine options will likely mirror those of the hatchback, including a 73kW naturally-aspirated 1.4-litre petrol, an 88kW 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and a 103kW 1.4-litre turbo petrol. A 1.6-litre turbo-diesel is also available with the hatch.

Stay tuned for our coverage of the Ceed Sportswagon's official reveal at the Geneva motor show this week.

Australia

The Ceed hatchback (above) has been confirmed for a second-quarter launch in the European market, and we'd expect the wagon to be available around the same time or shortly after.

However, don't expect to see the Sportswagon in Australia anytime soon – the updated Cerato range has only been confirmed to include the sedan (mid-year) and hatchback (before 2019).
