2014-15 Peugeot 308 recalled

Overheating risk could cause vehicles to stall

Peugeot has issued a recall for its 'T9' 308 small car over concerns a faulty cooling strategy and maximum temperature alert could cause the engine to overheat.

The French manufacturer says overheating could cause the engine to seize when in use, meaning the vehicle could stop suddenly.

If the condition occurs, this poses an accident risk for the vehicle's occupants and other road users.

Affected 308 units were sold from 1 November 2014 through 30 April 2015. A VIN list is available here.

Owners of the recalled vehicles will be contacted by Peugeot Australia via mail, and will be advised to present their 308 to their local dealer to have the engine computer software updated "in order to prevent the possibility of the engine overheating".
