2018 Audi A6 leaked
All-new sedan ousted ahead of Geneva debut
The new-generation Audi A6 has been leaked on an online forum, ahead of its anticipated debut at the Geneva motor show next week.
Posted on Worldscoop, the trio of images show the new A6 sedan sporting a look very similar to that of the larger A8 limousine.
Compared to the current model, the A6 appears lower and wider for a more aggressive stance, new LED signatures for the head- and tail-lights, and the latest interpretation of the company's six-point front grille.
At the rear, the fat LED tail-lights are, as expected, connected through the centre by a chrome strip, while the signature is in line with Audi's newest and upcoming models – think A7, A8 and Q8.
There are no interior images at this stage, but we're expecting the A6 to offer the company's new dual-screen centre console design that debuted with the A8, along with the company's latest generation infotainment systems and driver-assistance technologies.
Underneath the skin is the Volkswagen Group's MLB 'Evo' architecture, which already underpins several models including the Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga – though the A6 will obviously ride lower to the ground.
While unconfirmed, the MLB underpinnings mean the A6 should be available with a range of turbocharged four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, with six-cylinder models available alongside a 48V mild-hybrid system for improved efficiency and a brief performance boost.
S6 and/or RS6 performance flagships are likely, and should be the sole models available with V8 power. We're unsure, however, whether the performance models will also get electric assistance.
