Peugeot Rifter 4×4 concept revealed

MPV becomes OTT ATV

The Peugeot Rifter 4x4 concept has been revealed this week, ahead of a Geneva motor show debut.

Based on the Rifter people-mover – which itself is Peugeot's version of the Citroen Berlingo – the 4x4 concept is an all-in-one off-road and camping companion, finished in an eye-catching matte-black/yellow satin paint scheme.

Peugeot has fitted "full-wheel drive" 16-inch alloys wrapped in BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres and an 80mm-higher ride height than the standard car, along with an Overland roof tent.

The full-wheel drive system has been developed by Dangel, a brand specialising in four-wheel drive "transformation", which offers three modes and a lockable centre differential.

Powering the 4x4 is the company's 1.5-litre 'BlueHDi 130' turbo-diesel engine, making 130hp (97kW) of power and 300Nm of torque. Shifting gears is a six-speed manual transmission.

The black and yellow colour scheme continues inside, with bright highlights adorning everything from the seats, stitching and vent inserts. The seats are trimmed in alcantara and cloth, while the steering wheel is wrapped in leather.

Machined aluminium adorns the centre console and door inserts, and there's bold 'Rifter' branding throughout.

Finally, there's a Peugeot eM02 FS Powertube electric mountain bike to take you where the Rifter 4x4 can't.
